Yes. CloudOuch uses AWS's recommended security pattern: IAM role assumption with External ID verification. We create a read-only role in your account via CloudFormation. We can only call Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Rightsizing APIsâwe cannot modify, delete, or access any of your actual AWS resources like EC2, S3, or databases.
Read-only access to: ce:Get*, ce:Describe*, ce:List* (Cost Explorer), budgets:View*, budgets:Describe* (Budgets), and billing:Get*, account:Get* (Billing/Account). That's it. The CloudFormation template is fully transparentâyou can review every permission before deploying.
Early access users pay $9.99/month and lock in that rate for as long as they stay subscribed. Even when we raise prices for the public, your Supporter rate remains unchanged. If we help you save just 1% on a $1,000/month AWS bill, you've already earned back a year of CloudOuch.
CloudOuch uses read-only access to AWS billing APIs. These API calls are billed by AWS directly to your account (not CloudOuch). Weâve optimized usage heavilyâmost users see under $1â$2 per month in additional AWS charges.
Cost data is refreshed daily. AWS Cost Explorer data has an inherent 24-48 hour delay (that's AWS, not us). We also run scheduled background refreshes for users with alerts enabled, so your alerts stay current even if you don't open the app.
Budget Threshold (spend exceeds $X), Forecast Alert (projected month-end exceeds $X), Daily Spike (today's cost exceeds $X), Service Limit (specific service exceeds $X), Anomaly Detected (ML-detected unusual spending), Daily Increase (today is X% higher than yesterday), and Monthly Increase (MTD is X% higher than same point last month).
Yes. Early access includes up to 3 AWS accountsâperfect for dev/staging/prod environments. Each account gets its own dashboard, alerts, and history.
